Backstreet Boys Announce New Studio Album and Summer Tour

Posted by Staff with No Comments

Following the example of New Kids on the Block and 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys will release a new studio album in 2013. “In A World Like This” will be released on July 30, and three days later, the Boys will kick off a North American tour in Chicago.

On Wednesday morning (May 15), the five members of BSB appeared on “Good Morning America” and premiered a new song, “Permanent Stain.” The upcoming album’s first single, “In a World Like This,” is set to be released on June 25, and is said to be a return to the bombastic hooks of their earlier work.

“We always want to top our previous albums,” Nick Carter says in a press statement. “All five of us were determined to create an album where every song could be a single.”

The album and tour announcement comes on the heels of the band’s 20th anniversary in April, in which they were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Recorded in London and Los Angeles with producers like Max Martin, Martin Terefe and Justin Trugman, “In a World Like This” marks the recording return of Kevin Richardson, who departed the group following 2005′s “Never Gone” and returned to BSB in 2012. Backstreet Boys Bring In Pauly D, Jesse McCartney For Summer Tour

Posted by Staff with No Comments

‘All five of us are back together,’ Nick Carter said of the jaunt, kicking off this August in Chicago.

Is there really a better way to celebrate 20 years in the industry than with a summer tour? Well, that’s how Backstreet Boys plan on celebrating. The recently reunited fivesome will kick off their In a World Like This jaunt on August 2 in Chicago.

“Backstreet Boys are going on tour this summer,” Nick Carter said, via Ryan Seacrest’s website. “That’s right, baby! All five of us are back together. It’s our 20th anniversary tour. We’ve got a brand-new album coming out.”

And they’re bringing some friends along for the ride. They’ve enlisted the help of “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D and Jesse McCartney to open for them. The tour will make stops all across the country, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, Atlanta and more, before wrapping up on September 8 in San Francisco before they launch into a handful of dates in Japan. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 17. Read the rest of this entry »

Backstreet Boys Will Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Posted by Staff with No Comments

The Backstreet Boys, who have sold more than 130 million albums worldwide, the most for a boy band, will receive the 2,495th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame April 22nd in connection with their 20th anniversary.

The star will be in front of the Live Nation Building at 7072 Hollywood Blvd., next to the star of another popular boy band Boyz II Men, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the Walk of Fame, announced today.

Max Martin, who has produced and written some of the Backstreet Boys’ works, plus a special fan of the group will speak at the ceremony, according to Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

The ceremony will be streamed at walkoffame.com beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The ceremony will come two days after a fan celebration at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.

The band — A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter — was formed in 1993 and released their self-titled first album in 1996, which received diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. [Source]
