Two years ago, the Backstreet Boys spent New Year’s Eve in New York’s Times Square with television personality Dick Clark.
This year the group will spend New Year’s Eve performing in the Lehigh Valley.
Backstreet Boys will perform Dec. 31 at Sands Bethlehem Event Center as part of the venue’s New Years Eve celebration. The show will kick off the 20th anniversary of the group’s founding in 1993.
Tickets, which start at $59.50 for general admission standing, will be available at 10 a.m. Wednesday at http://www.sandseventcenter.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.
The announcement represents the best-selling act the event center has had in the 60 events it has held since opening in May with a series of concerts that included Incubus, the Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary tour, The Eagles’ Don Henley and country star Alan Jackson.
Backstreet Boys’ total album sales, an estimated 130 million worldwide, place them among the 25 best-selling acts of all time and among the top 12 still touring.
“I don’t know of anything bigger,” Sands Event Center partner Jerry Deifer Jr. said. “Geez, that’s crazy.
“To conclude our 2012 season and start our 2013 with Backstreet Boys is a testament to the continued entertainment we strive to produce here at Sands Event Center. The Backstreet Boys will ring in the New Year with this once-in-a-lifetime party atmosphere unlike ever done before for them as well as us.” Read the rest of this entry »
