‘All five of us are back together,’ Nick Carter said of the jaunt, kicking off this August in Chicago.

“Backstreet Boys are going on tour this summer,” Nick Carter said, via Ryan Seacrest’s website. “That’s right, baby! All five of us are back together. It’s our 20th anniversary tour. We’ve got a brand-new album coming out.”

And they’re bringing some friends along for the ride. They’ve enlisted the help of “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D and Jesse McCartney to open for them. The tour will make stops all across the country, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, Atlanta and more, before wrapping up on September 8 in San Francisco before they launch into a handful of dates in Japan. Nick Carter to perform at Cannery Ballroom

Posted by Staff in Jan 09,2012 with No Comments

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter will perform at Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom Monday, Jan. 30 in support of his new album I’m Taking Off.

Carter’s most recent performance in Nashville came last summer when Bridgestone Arena played host to the New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys tour. For now, he’s focused on his own burgeoning solo career. I’m Taking Off explores a variety of moods and musical styles.

“It has songs about love, happiness, the sad parts of love—it’s got some dance tracks on it. You can play it for your loved one or you can play it in the club,” Carter says.

The first single, “Just One Kiss,” is an uptempo hit about a struggling relationship. “There are probably a lot of people in this world that have had this situation,” says Carter, who wrote the song with Dan Muckala and Jason Ingram. “Someone has fallen out of love with them and they want that one last try, even though they’ve messed up. The guy in the song is basically admitting his faults and asking for that one last chance.”

Tickets for the concert are on sale now at Ticketweb for $27.50. [Source]

New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys to tour in May

Posted by Staff in Dec 19,2011 with No Comments

After dominating different generations of teenagers with their boy band antics, New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys are bringing their NKOTBSB tour/clumsy acronym to Australia in May.

The two groups are only performing four shows, stopping in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney, with tickets on sale from December 8.

Donnie Wahlberg said of the visit to Australia: “If our fans want us down under, we’ll go down under. Our international fans have been flying to see us stateside for years, so now we are bringing the show to them. Get ready Australia, we are coming to you!” We can only imagine he was wearing this when he made that statement.

These shows are likely to sell out quickly, considering the massive impact both artists had on generations of teens/pre-teens who now fit squarely in the ‘nostalgic for their younger years’ bracket. Between the two groups, they have record sales totalling more than twenty million units. Read the rest of this entry »
